Navigating tight alleys near the river
A homeowner on a narrow street near the Des Plaines River needed a 20-yarder to clear out decades of accumulated clutter. The real trouble wasn't the junk—it was the access. Their garage backed up to an overgrown alley with low-hanging power lines, and the ground was soft from recent rain. A standard heavy-duty hauler would have snagged a line or bogged down instantly.
We used our single-axle hooklift truck, which handles tight turns better than the big cable hoists national fleets use. I backed it in slow, watching the overhead clearance, and dropped the bin right on the concrete apron to keep the tires off the mud. We placed wood planks under the rollers for extra stability. We hauled the full load out Monday morning without leaving a single rut behind.
Frank got that dumpster into a spot three other companies said was impossible to reach.
